Fast ForWord

Overview

Fast ForWord is a series of computer-based therapies aimed at improving language, reading, and learning skills in children and students from age 4 to high school. The students think they are playing interesting, fast-paced computer games while they are actually developing their language and communication skills. As they improve, the computer adjusts the level of difficulty to provide an ongoing challenge for even greater gains.

FastForWord products include programs for:

* Basics, for developing essential learning skills for four- to seven-year-olds.

* Language, for developing oral language skills that provide the foundation for reading.

* Language to Reading, which helps develop skills needed for spoken and written language.

* Reading, which rapidly develops reading skills, including decoding, spelling, and comprehension.

* Middle and High School, which reinforces the skills critical for fluent reading and communication skills for older students.

Students who used FastForWord products often obtain almost a year or more improvement in language skills after the twelve-week program.

The number of sessions that are given for Fast ForWord depend on the child's ability and how well the child improves. Because of this, the cost of Fast ForWord at ATEC varies, so please call ATEC to find out our rates.

What Others Have Said

"The thing that really interested me was the data. This actually makes a neurological difference that remains and is a help to the child forever.”

Barbara MacPhee, Principal of New Orleans Center for Science and Mathematics

"Fast ForWord did for my daughter what nothing else has done for her, and her confidence is at an all-time high."
